The Civic Center does not sell, rent or lease its Membership, Season Ticketholder or customer lists to third parties. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
IV. Website and Email Newsletters
To maintain contact with Civic Center donors, customers and other interested parties, the Civic Center manages a web site, www.houmaciviccenter.com. In general, when you visit our web site and access information, you remain anonymous. The Civic Center does not require you to register or provide personal information in order to view our site.
The Civic Center tracks web usage and non-personally identifiable information (that is, information that cannot be traced to a single, personally identifiable individual) to evaluate how well our Web pages are serving visitor needs.
There are occasions when we will ask for additional information from you. We do this to better understand and respond to your needs, and to provide you with services that may be valuable to you. For example, personally identifiable information will be collected when you make a donation, purchase tickets or sign-up for a Civic Center e-newsletter. The Civic Center also tracks customer response to Civic Center emails – specifically if the email was opened and if a purchase decision was made – to evaluate the effectiveness of these promotions.
The Civic Center may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the Civic Center’s rights or property or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. The Civic Center may disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.
