II. Use of your Personal Information

The Civic Center uses the personal information it collects to process ticket orders and donations, notify you of performance changes and updates, and offer you unique ticket offers or event invitation based on your interests.

The Civic Center does not sell, rent or lease its Membership, Season Ticketholder or customer lists to third parties. The Civic Center may, from time to time, share data with trusted organizations who are raising money or selling tickets on the Civic Center’s behalf. In doing so, the Civic Center may disclose the following kinds of information about you:

  • Information the Civic Center receives from you on applications and other forms, such as your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number
  • Information about your transactions with the Civic Center, its affiliates or others

The Civic Center has a contractual agreement with these trusted organizations that prohibits them from disclosing this information for other purposes.

In addition, the Civic Center may contact you on behalf of partner organizations or external business partners about a particular event or offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your unique personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. If you prefer to not receive such communications you may email: marketing@civiccenter.org.

The Civic Center does not disclose nonpublic personal information of its former Members, Season Ticketholders or other customers.

III. Protection of Your Financial Information

The Civic Center will protect any personal financial information you share with us. Your credit card number will only be used for processing ticket orders and donations. Your order information will be stored on our secure servers; this information is not shared with third parties. Information for technical management purposes is accessible by Ticketmaster. We restrict access to customer financial information for use by authorized Civic Center employees only. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.

IV. Website and Email Newsletters

To maintain contact with Civic Center donors, customers and other interested parties, the Civic Center manages a web site, www.houmaciviccenter.com. In general, when you visit our web site and access information, you remain anonymous. The Civic Center does not require you to register or provide personal information in order to view our site.

The Civic Center tracks web usage and non-personally identifiable information (that is, information that cannot be traced to a single, personally identifiable individual) to evaluate how well our Web pages are serving visitor needs.

There are occasions when we will ask for additional information from you. We do this to better understand and respond to your needs, and to provide you with services that may be valuable to you. For example, personally identifiable information will be collected when you make a donation, purchase tickets or sign-up for a Civic Center e-newsletter. The Civic Center also tracks customer response to Civic Center emails – specifically if the email was opened and if a purchase decision was made – to evaluate the effectiveness of these promotions.

The Civic Center may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference with (either intentionally or unintentionally) the Civic Center’s rights or property or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. The Civic Center may disclose user information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it.

V. Information Specific to Civic Center Members and Donors

We adhere to the Donor Bill of Rights policy developed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Council for Advancement and Support of Education, the American Association of Fund-Raising Counsel, and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.

The Civic Center is grateful for the support of many individuals, organizations and businesses.
