The 20th Annual Southern Louisiana Boat, Sport and RV Show returns to the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center on January 5-7, 2018. We recently asked event promoter Bart Caple a few questions to preview this event.
With this being the 20th Annual show, how has this event evolved since the first show in Houma?
One of the biggest changes to note is the styles and amount of the boats and RVs that are offered. These industries have advanced greatly over time, and the show has followed. Now they have more than 35 boat brands and over 140 RVs brands to choose from at the show.
What are a few highlights for the 2018 show?
The show has had many changes, but still offers some classics every year. See how the newest lures work in the world’s largest mobile aquarium, and test your skills in the fan favorite Fish-O-Rama indoor pond. Also featured are the Whitetail Kings Collection display and the 1923 Model T Dream Camper owned by 78-year-old Rod Cathcart and 83-year-old Bob Bark.
What are a few tips or words of advice for those planning to buy a boat or RV?
It is best to take your time and look at as much as you can. With a number of vendors all in one place, take the opportunity to shop, compare and find what will work best for you. Keep in mind with this being very competitive environment, you are more likely to walk away with an awesome deal!
The show starts runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday is Family Day and all children 12 years old and under get to fish once for free at the Fish-O-Rama Rainbow Trout Pond! Visit Southernlouisianaboatrvshow.com for more information on the 2018 show.
